How Dubai gave this blind 5-year old new life

A five-year-old handicapped Emirati girl who had gone almost blind because of illness had restored sight following treatment in Dubai.

Amira Ahmed can now see again normally after her sight started to gradually weaken over the past few years because of her illness.

“Amira has regained her sight and her health is steadily improving,” said the Dubai Endowments and Palace Affairs Establishment, which is supervising and financing Amira’s treatment in the emirate.

The Establishment said it had also provided a push chair for Amira and paid all her school fees, adding that Amira would undergo further treatment shortly.

Newspapers said the Establishment organized a function in Dubai this week to celebrate Amira’s recovery.
