Instant lifetime UAE ban if you’re caught with any of these...

Nearly every week, several Dubai Airport passengers arriving from different nations are deported back and banned from entering the UAE again.

That is the immediate price to pay, if one is caught in connection with black magic and sorcery.

“It’s completely illegal in the UAE, it’s against our religion, and those who practice black magic are a danger to society and a threat to the safety of our country,” explained Hassan Ibrahim, Senior Inspections Officer with Dubai Customs.

He told ‘Emirates24|7’ that his highly-experienced and vigilant team of inspectors face at least two or three cases a week, where passengers are caught with items commonly linked to witchcraft.

Although society is used to sorcerers and black magicians with a certain ‘look’, that’s not what the inspectors are depending on.

“We’re concerned with the contents of passengers’ bags, and most importantly, the destination they’ve arrived from.” Hassan said: “We keep an eye out for a range of items , and it usually starts with a high density of papers, as most sorcerers work a lot using unusual symbols written on papers, sometimes combined with Quran verses, written in saffron, ink or blood.” It starts with papers including magic teaching books, but then the list goes deeper.

“We come across animal skin, animal bones, dead animals, various ampules of liquids, blood, leaves, strings,  bukhour (incense), amulets and objects made with human hair,” he added.

Although one or a few of these items are found with one passenger, on some occasions all of these items are found in one bag!

“Regarding black magic and witchcraft, most of the time it’s the passenger’s profession, so carrying these items around with you is normal in some cultures, and for that, they don’t feel the need to be nervous while they’re passing through, “ Ibrahim continued.

They are all crucial tools to their trade, in particular for most smugglers coming in from Africa and Asia. The passengers arrive with the intent to scam, steal, fool and harm, as black magicians work on different levels of power.

Unfortunately, a majority of these sorcerers are real, based on evidence.

“Along with the symbols, animal parts and such items, we’ve also caught sorcerers with photographs of people, mainly couples,  including their names, and their mother’s name, samples of their personal belongings such as hair and used tissues,” explained the Senior Inspections Officer.

He added: “These are real magicians working on higher levels of witchcraft.”

Hassan continued: “But  these things do not scare us, we at Dubai Customs are doing our job, and  we will still do what we have to do, to protect our country and discourage such kinds of harmful and unlawful activities.”
