Man acquitted of harrasment charges

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance acquitted an Azerbaijani investor from threatening to kill and steal his former partner via email.

According to the charge sheet, FA, 55, sent emails on December 14 and 16, 2009 threatening his former partner OM. He denied the accusation before the court.

One of the e-mails that FA sent to OM’s private account said: “I will hurt you when no one is around to help." It also threatened that OM would be swimming in a pool of his own blood while FA took all his money.

OM testified that after he won a case regarding the business venture, in 2008, FA started sending threatening emails.

OM testified that FA accused him of defrauding people and stealing their money.

KM, a witness, testified before the prosecution that he read one of the three e-mails sent by FA that said, “I will get you when you least expect it.”
