Man crushed by falling planks in Fujairah

An Asian worker died after he was crushed by falling wooden planks from a building under construction in Fujairah, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The worker was standing near the ground floor at the construction site in the Eastern emirate when the planks slipped out of the crane and fell straight on his head.

“He died on the site after suffering severe injuries in his head as a result of the falling wooden plans,” 'Al Bayan' daily said, quoted Lt Colonel Saeed Al Hassani, information and public relations director at Fujairah police department.

He said police were investigating the case to check whether there was any violation in safety rules at the site.
