Man held after woman knifed in Al Ain

Police arrested a man who stabbed a woman while she was walking in a public place in the eastern town of Al Ain on Friday afternoon, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The woman, in her 50s, was with her Asian housemaid in Sarouj area in Al Ain when she was attacked by the man wielding a knife, 'Al Khaleej' Arabic language daily said.

It did not identify the woman but said she had been taken to hospital while the unidentified assailant was seized.
