Man uses forged passport, valid visa to enter UAE

A Bangladesh national, who entered the country using a forged passport but a genuine UAE visa, could not leave the country using the document as the forgery was discovered.

MSA, 32, had entered the country with a passport that carried his picture but a different person’s name. He had a valid visa on the passport that carried the name of Mohammed Repon Miah. The passport also had entry and exit stamps of Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports.

The passport had been forged by removing the picture of the original holder and replacing it with that of the accused.

On April 14, the accused was arrested at the airport and as per the prosecution sheet the charges are using a valid official document belonging to another person (the visa), forged unofficial document (the passport) and using the forged documents with the knowledge that these are counterfeit.

The accused confessed that his brother had given him the passport.

The case was adjourned until August 12.
