His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received President Mwai Kibaki of Kenya and his accompanying delegation at Zaabeel Palace in Dubai on Tuesday.
During the meeting, which was held in the presence of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohammed and the Kenyan President discussed ways of expanding cooperation between the UAE and Kenya in the fields of economy, trade and investment.
The Kenyan President expressed his country’s desire to benefit from the DP World’s vast experience in operating the Kenyan Port of Mombasa, which is considered one of the biggest ports in the eastern coast of Africa.
Also present at the meeting were FNC Speaker Mohammad Ahmad Al Murr, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Financial Affairs Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, State Minister Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Director of Sheikh Mohammed’s Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Chairman of Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation Sultan bin Sulayem, Dubai Director of Protocol and Hospitality Khalifa Saeed Suleiman and other senior officials.
