There’s a good news for the UAE motorists. Even before they leave their homes, now they’ll be able to know the status of traffic flow/jams in the UAE before hitting the road.
Late on Wednesday, Google Maps announced the launch of live traffic info of the UAE roads whereby drivers can see status of any traffic jams on the roads which will help them plan their route by just clicking on the Google Maps traffic button.
This facility is available for the people using Android or any mobile device, not Apple’s iOS6, in the UAE. The app can help them plan their route before leaving home.
"If your route shows red, you're looking at a stop-and-go commute; yellow, you could be a little late for dinner; green, you've got smooth sailing," said an introductory note by Google for the new feature when it was initially launched in the US in February 2007.
Google introduced service in the UAE, Kazakhstan and in many other countries.
Earlier in the day Google also announced that it had launched an app on the Apple’s iStore for iOS6 and iPhone5 users, almost four months after it was kicked out of Apple’s latest operating system. However, Apple users in the UAE will have to wait for the app to arrive in the local app store.
