Ras Al Khaimah police denied rumours of children being kidnapped in cars and warned against spreading such rumours.
Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Naimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, said these rumours being spread on the social media were not true and the authorities would take action against those who violate the law.
He called on members of the community not to promote or spread these fake reports because cybercrime law criminalises dissemination and promotion of such rumours.
He said the UAE is one of the best countries in the world in terms of safety and this was achieved through hard work and fruitful cooperation among all the institutions of civil society, citizens and residents.
Major General Ali said none of the police stations in the emirate officially reported any such rumours.
He warned that the police would pursue anyone trying to threaten safety and security of the state.
