Ras Al Khaimah Police has banned movement of trucks early in the morning and during rush hours on all roads of the emirate from Sunday September 8.

The date coincides with the reopening of schools after the summer vacation.

Brigadier Mohammed Al Nubi, deputy commander of RAK Police, said the ban has been imposed to avoid the risk of road accident to students going to and returning from school.

Al Nubi said patrols will be intensified in front of schools early in the morning and at the end of school hours to ensure that their movements do not obstruct traffic.

Al Nubi praised large companies for asking their truck drivers to be cautious while driving.

Brigadier Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem of RAK Police said the Saif Hospital-Obaidullah signals intersection will be closed for three months from Wednesday September 4.
