A driver of an RTA bus is facing charges of molesting a Filipina passenger who was alone in the bus in the Al Khawaneej area.
The woman EK, 23, was left alone in the bus when all other passengers got off at various points.
The Sri Lankan driver KRM, 31, pulled over and walked to her and allegedly put a hand on her shoulder and then began groping ignoring her objections, she told the prosecution.
“When I started crying, he stopped, stepped back and drove on…and I got down at Al Arabi Centre,” she testified.
On informing her boss about the incident, she was asked to lodge a police complaint.
Based on the descriptions and bus route, police arrested the man.
A policeman testified that the driver had in fact confessed of the crime.
The court will issue its verdict by the end of October.
