Sharjah police seize porn CDs in 10-day drive

Sharjah police seized several Bangladeshis selling pornographic CD films and mobile phone call credit during a crackdown they launched 10 days ago following reports about the spread of such illegal activities.

The detective and criminal investigation department, which mounted the campaign on September 11, said its squads raided the Roula square in the city and arrested many Bangladeshis, some of whom are staying in the UAE illegally.

Police found a large quantity of porno CDs in their possession while they were also selling mobile phone call credit they had apparently stolen from others.

“Those captured had take corners and lanes as a place to sell their illegal products to the passers by so they can run away in case they see the police,” the Dubai-based Emarat Alyoum Arabic language daily said.
