Traffic Alert: 8-vehicle crash on Sheikh Zayed Road

An eight-vehicle crash on Sheikh Zayed Road is reportedly causing traffic delays during the morning commute to Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi.

Dubai Police vehicles are on the scene, with the authority also posting an alert via its Twitter handle at 8.45am: “Traffic Update: An accident has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road opposite Ibn Battuta Mall toward Abu Dhabi, please be extra cautious.”

It is unclear if anyone has been seriously injured in the crash, but motorists are reporting eight vehicles are involved in the incident, with several lanes blocked to traffic as debris is being cleared off the highway.

“Rubberneckers are further adding to the morning commute delays,” said one eyewitness.

Those travelling via E11 can expect an additional 20-minutes added to their morning drive.
