The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology has urged motorists to cautious on roads as low visibility is expected due to fog and blowing sand.
In a statement issued today, the national forecasters expected slight to moderate sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman today, with temperature rising slightly.
It expected a gradual drop in temperature on Sunday and Monday, high humidity in coastal areas in the morning and blowing dust Sunday afternoon due to northwestern winds.
Sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Gulf of Oman over the next two days.
Haze over UAE
The hot, dusty weather of Thursday will lighten up over the weekend, but continue to maintain a haze over most of the UAE in general.
The country’s National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has forecasted an overall hot and humid weekend, with foggy climes in the morning hours.
The weather on Friday is expected to be ‘fair to partly cloudy’, with chances of haze at times during the day.
The Met office further stated: “The UAE will experience moderate winds in general, freshening during morning towards west.”
It continued: “Temperatures tend to increase over most areas.”
These could reach the mid-forties over the internal areas.
The sea will also be rough at first, becoming moderate by daytime in the Arabian Gulf, and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.
“The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning times over some internal and coastal areas, with a chance of mist or fog formation,” the NCMS added.
The weather on Saturday will continue in a similar pattern, being fair to cloudy with a chance of haze.
The country will experience light to moderate winds in general, freshening over western offshore by late night.
The sea will be moderate, becoming rough by late night in the western Arabian Gulf, and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.
The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning times over some coastal areas.
