Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) has released its latest list of products that are deemed harmful to use at home and can result in injuries.
In its latest safety advisory, the Council has recalled three products used at home, which can cause falls and burns to the user.
1. Safety gate
The first product is a safety gate, which QCC lists as unsafe to use. These are Patrull fast safety gates from Romania.
Look out for model no./batch no./identification no. 10226517 sold under the trade mark/brand name of Ikea and if you have one of these in your house you need to be aware of its dangers.
This product has been recalled as it doesn't meet the safety requirements as these gates have opened unexpectedly and children have fallen down the stairs.
2. Washing machine
Washing machines are extensively used in any home but if you have model no./batch no./identification no. SWM-11000 from Sonashi brand, you should stop using it. This product from China has been recalled as it doesn't meet the safety requirements related to resistance to fire and heat of the material product which may lead to a possible of fire and burning the user.
3. Hot plate
These Nevica brand hot plates can be a hazard in your kitchen. These Chinese made model no./batch no./identification no. NV-745EC does not meet the safety requirements related to the accessibility to live parts which may lead to a possible of electrocuting the user.
To provide better service in alerting the people of the UAE to unsafe, hazardous or defective products, Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council reports on dangerous products and its flaws to ensure safety of consumers.
QCC not only warns and advises consumers of all the recalled products that do not comply with safety requirements but also permits consumers to report injuries and incidents caused by consumer products in their system to increase awareness.
The council helps in providing services that live up to quality and conformity standards, boost the infrastructure towards sustainable development and raise the quality of the traded products in order to enhance consumers trust and achieve competitiveness in the business and industrial sectors.
