What UAE residents can do in Abu Dhabi during National Day holidays

Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi’s shopping destination, has lined up an exciting programme of events and activities in celebration of the UAE’s 44th National Day.

Visitors are invited to enjoy an array of cultural festivities reflecting the UAE’s heritage, at Marina Mall and Abu Dhabi’s stunning Ferris Wheel, the Marina Eye, from December 2-4, 2015.

The stand-out observational wheel gives guests a birds-eye view of the capital’s impressive skyline.

Marina Eye can seat up to eight people per cabin and houses 42 cabins equipped with air-conditioning and heating. It also includes a VIP cabin that is complete with an LED TV, telephone and refrigerator.

Nikolaos Kontos, Head of Marketing at Marina Mall, commented on the occasion saying: “44 years of accomplishments are being celebrated this year at Marina Mall Abu Dhabi. Building a strong and prosperous nation was the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, along with the UAE’s rulers, continued success and prosperity.”

During the festivities, visitors can take in a traditional Ayyala dance performance and enjoy a falcon display, while indulging in Arabic coffee and dates, as well as a henna experience. A variety of street food trucks will be serving up tasty snacks at the Marina Eye, while themed characters will be entertaining visitors as they roam the mall.

In partnership with Bin Hamoodah Chevrolet and the UAE Camaro Club, a Camaro road show took place in honour of UAE National Day on Friday, 27 November.

40 branded Chevrolet Camaro cars, escorted by Abu Dhabi Police, drove down Abu Dhabi’s Corniche to Marina Mall Abu Dhabi.

Marina Eye, which has already attracted thousands of residents and tourists, operates daily from 11:00am to 11:00pm on weekdays and from 11:00am to 1:00am on weekends.
