A woman and her little daughter using the lift to go to her apartment in a building in Ajman got a shock when she found a man with his wolf inside.
The woman said she was shocked and frightened when she saw the animal, adding that she decided to get out immediately.
“A man has a wolf in his apartment. We have called the company in charge of the building many times but it has done nothing,” she told 'Emarat Al Youm' daily.
Another resident said he saw the wolf in the lift and called that company, adding that other residents also have many dogs inside their flats.
“We and our children are continuously frightened…authorities should not allow these people to have wild animals and dogs here because there are many children,” said the man, who was not named.
The paper quoted Humaid Al Muallah, public health and environment director at Ajman Municipality and Planning, as saying possessing animals at home is banned in the emirate and offenders are fined Dh10,000.
He said residents can report any offence by calling 80026 so the Municipality will take the necessary measures against them.
