Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari is “out of danger” and is his condition is stable, government and his political party affiliates said on Wednesday.
Speaking to Emirates 24l7, said Mian Munir Hans, President, Pakistan People’s Party President, said that Zardari is still in the hospital but he is now “out of danger”. All the test have been completed but doctors have advised him to remain in the hospital tonight. He is expected to be released tomorrow and would stay for a few days in Dubai with his children.”
Zardari travelled to Dubai on Tuesday evening from Pakistan for medical tests on his heart after falling ill, fuelling rumours that he might be stepping down.
Another statement issued by Pakistan Consulate in Dubai said: “Routine evaluation of President Asif Ali Zardari’s health is being carried out. Investigations done so far are essentially within normal limits and the President’s condition is stable.”
“The President arrived here in Dubai at 7.30pm on Tuesday evening in his presidential plane and then went to American Hospital in his own car – not in an ambulance. He has been undergoing medical examination and other tests related to cardiology since last 12.30am on Wednesday morning at the hospital,” Hans added.
President Zardari is having cardiology health problem for the past five years. He was earlier admitted for 17 days in a Dubai hospital for the treatment.
Hans, however, rubbished media reports that the Pakistani president had any brain hemorrhage attack after the hearth attack.
Zardari not resigning
The party spokesperson also denied reports about president resigning saying that “since president was undergoing heart treatment in Dubai for a long time, that’s why he again came to Dubai for medical check-up. I was with president since he landed here but it’s not true that President is resigning.”
A US magazine earlier in the day reported that Zardari may resign from presidency due to health-related problem and memogate pressure.
He also said that President Zardari will travel back to Pakistan following a few days of rest in Dubai.
