Mohammed, Mohamed bin Zayed in Riyadh

A joint statement was issued yesterday following the meeting held by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness the Kuwaiti Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.

The Saudi Press Agency quoted the statement as saying, "At a noble invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met on Sunday 16/11/2014 in Riyadh, to consolidate the spirit of sincere cooperation, to confirm the mutual destiny and the aspirations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states' peoples of solid unity and close rapprochement."

The statement added that the leaders also reached an agreement that compliments the original Riyadh one. The new agreement will push forward joint work between the GCC Countries. It also said that the critical moment in history that the region is facing requires compounding efforts to protect security and stability.

The leaders also agreed that the Ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain return to the State of Qatar.

Earlier, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces arrived in Riyadh on a visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

They were received at the Riyadh Airbase by HRH Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Advisor and Special Envoy to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and by HRH Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh Region.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are being accompanied by Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.
