A Saudi man returned a book to a school 32 years after he borrowed it from the school’s library when he was a student, saying he was sorry for the delay.
The unnamed man told the manager of the school in the capital Riyadh that he had forgot to return the book after leaving the school 32 years ago because he has been busy travelling across the Gulf Kingdom for business.
The man said he was searching through his old things when he stumbled across the book and decided to take it back to the school.
“He told the manager that he decided to return the book because it was a trust which must be returned to its origin.…he also apologized for the delay,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq said.
It quoted the school’s manager Yassir Salloum as saying the management was surprised by the man’s “honesty.”
