Mom of three gets four years for shooting morphine

A 36-year-old Emirati mother of three was awarded four years in jail for taking drugs by the Dubai Criminal Court.
 
According to the accusation sheet, on July 4, the mother accompanied her daughter to Rashid Hospital. It was shocking for the hospital staff to see the mother in an abnormal condition as she looked like a drunk and was hallucinating.

The staff informed police at the hospital and took the urine sample of the mother.

The test was positive to morphine.

Saeed Al Ghailani, the defence lawyer asked the court to bail the accused since she is a mother of three children.

“She was away from her children in Ramadan and Eid… her children need her especially as schools have started. The children have no guardian except their mother,” the lawyer pleaded to the court presided by Fahmi Munir Fahmi.

The court did not listen to the plea and applied the law on the guilty mother.
