More Dubai civil servants to get 'job nature' perks

Dubai’s government intends to raise the salaries of more civil servants by giving them job nature allowances that have already benefited nearly 13,800 employees in various departments, the emirate’s human resources department (HRD) has said.

The decision to pay a job nature allowance for civil servants in the second half of 2013 will be expanded to include more employees in the emirate’s departments after the emergence of new job categories, HRD director Amal bin Adi said.

“The list of employees that benefit from the job nature allowance will be expanded following the emergence of new job categories that were not included in the list which benefited from that allowance,” she told Emarat Al Youm Arabic language daily.

“Payment of this allowance has not finished yet.

“It is a flexible decision that allows for a revision of jobs that could benefit from the allowance but have not received the allowance. New job categories have been included in the list.”

Bin Adi said the allowance widely varied between 30 and 100 per cent due to several reasons, mainly the nature of some jobs and their importance in the labour market and the need to bridge the gap in salaries in various departments.

“The decision is also intended to reward qualified cadres to encourage them and maintain their job stability,” she added.
