RAK woman seriously hurt in gas blast

A 75-year-old Emirati woman was seriously injured after a gas cylinder exploded at her house in Ras Al Khaimah, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

‘Emarat Al Youm’ quoted police as saying a gas leak from the flawed cylinder caused the blast as the woman tried to turn the oven on for cooking.

It said civil defence and ambulances rushed to the accident site in Joulan neighborhood but added the blast caused no fire in the house.

“The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries in various parts of her body,” the paper said.
