Biggest loser: 375kg Saudi reduced to 159kg

A Saudi man who had weighed 375 kg lost more than half his weight and was able to walk again after undergoing a stomach surgery and intensive physiotherapy at a specialized hospital in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Hatan Al Shahri was transported to hospital in the southern province of Asir by several civil defence men after spending more than six months in his room, unable to move because of severe obesity, Okaz Arabic language daily said.

“After spending several months at hospital, doctors managed to end Shahri’s suffering…he was taken to hospital on a stretcher and left it walking,” it said.

“Doctors said Shahri was around 375 kg when he was admitted to hospital and nearly159 kg when he was discharged.”
