The Command of the Coalition Forces has issued a statement on commitment to a humanitarian truce in Yemen for five days.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the move follows the request made by President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi of the Republic of Yemen, through a letter addressed to The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, dated 24/07/2015.

The statement said the move aims to distribute the largest amount of humanitarian and medical assistance, adding that a five-day humanitarian truce will be observed as of tomorrow, Sunday, the 10th of Shawwal, 1436 AH, corresponding to 26/07/2015 at 11:59pm, during which the military actions by coalition forces will be ceased.

It warned in case the Houthi militias and forces loyal to them launch military acts or movements in any area, "they will be confronted by the coalition forces, with the continuation of the air and maritime blockage and inspections, as well as aerial reconnaissance for any military acts or movements by Houthi militias and forces loyal to them”.
