Crippled man walks out of wheelchair

A crippled Saudi who spent nearly 18 years of his life in a wheel chair shocked his mother when he started to move his legs slowly and stretched them down to the floor before standing erect before her eyes, a local daily reported Friday.

The man has just wheeled his way into his house in the central town of Hael after finishing class at a rehabilitation centre when he felt life was returning to his legs.

“He went straight to the room where his family was gathering…he began moving his legs, put them on the floor and stood up slowly,” Kabar daily said.

“His mother was shocked when she saw him standing…she was overcome by emotion and began praising God the Almighty for her son’s recovery.”

Kabar said the man, in his 20s, was paralyzed and suffered from speech problems after a surgical error nearly 18 years ago.
