Restaurant prepares shawarma meat in toilet

Workers at a Turkish restaurant in Saudi Arabia were caught on camera preparing shawarma meat inside the toilet at the restaurant.

A Saudi who was at the restaurant for a meal used his mobile phone to publicise the act and report the restaurant to health authorities.

Sabq newspaper said authorities are studying the film before taking any measures to fine or shut down the restaurant in the northwestern town of Tabuk.

Saudi authorities shut down a local restaurant after its workers were caught crushing garlic with their feet to prepare it for meals for its customers.

A Saudi man who wanted to buy a meal caught the workers red handed while he waited for the meal and took a walk past the back door of the restaurant in the northwestern town of Duba, according to the Arabic language daily ‘Sada’.

It said the man used his mobile phone to take shots of the workers as they crushed garlic with their feet in the kitchen in the back of the restaurant.

“He informed authorities and provided them with photographs.

“Inspectors from the municipality raided the restaurant, destroyed all the garlic and shut down the place indefinitely,” the paper said.
