Screams save maid from abusing employer

An Indonesian housemaid in Saudi Arabia locked herself up in a room, opened the window and screamed into the street for help after her local employer tried to rape her, Alyoum newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Surprised passers-by in Khansa neighbourhood in the central town of Makkah were attracted by the continuous screams of the young  maid from the second level apartment, the paper said.

“They phoned the police who came and arrested the employer...police said passers-by would be sought as witnesses to the incident,” it said.
