Veiled woman emerges as professional thief

A veiled woman clad in a traditional Arabian black gown from head to toe went into a bookshop in Saudi Arabia and appeared to have been instantly tempted by a mobile phone and a purse placed on the unmanned counter.

Taking advantage of the absence of workers, who were apparently busy inside, she walked over confidently, picked a piece of paper from the counter and covered the two items. She then slipped them into her bag and left.

The Saudi Arabic language daily Alsaudeh, which carried a brief  YouTube film about the theft, said the woman was caught by the security camera at the bookshop in the central town of Onaiza. It was not clear if the woman wears a veil for religious or professional reasons.
