A Kuwait court decided to be fair to a local woman who fled her house after it was convinced her husband was not fair to her, a newspaper said Wednesday.
The unnamed husband had filed a case asking court to order his wife to return home but he was rebuffed, Alanba said.
Defence lawyer for the wife presented court with a list of evidences showing the husband has never cared for his family. They included:
-- On one occasion, the wife fell ill and was admitted to hospital for four days but her husband did not visit her. This shows he is not a good husband.
-- The husband spends most of his time abroad for fun, leaving his wife and two children without money.
-- On many occasions, the husband kicked his wife out and changed the house’s locks so she can not come back.
-- On one occasion, he forced her to borrow KD15,000 ($51,000) from a bank and took the money for himself.
“The court was convinced that he is not a faithful husband and rejected his request for his wife to return home…the court also ordered the husband to pay KD200 ($680) in legal fees,” Alanba said.
