UAE residents woke up to a chilly morning on Tuesday as the mercury dipped to a minimum of 7 degrees celcius in the internal areas of the country.

As the day progresses, the temperatures are expected to rise to a maximum of 22 - 24 degrees celcius, in the internal and coastal areas of UAE.

However, those residing in the mountainous regions of the country are likely to be shivering as the temperatures have hit a minimum of 1 degree celcius on Tuesday and the temperature during the warmest part of the day would be about 11 degrees celcius. In the past, the Jebel Jais mountain in Ras Al Khaimah has been known to have been buried under snow in winter.

Meanwhile, all residents of UAE, and especially school-going children, are advised to bundle up in warm clothes, to ward off the winter chill.

The NCMS, the official weatherman of UAE forecasts, fair to partly cloudy weather over some areas.
Winds will be moderate in general, freshening at times over the sea during daytime.
The sea will be rough during daytimes and become moderate by night.
Relative humidity will increase over some internal and coastal areas with a chance of fog.
Spend your time outdoors and enjoy the winter as long as it lasts, for according to the weatherman's forecast for Wednesday, temperatures are expected to increase slightly over some internal areas.
Residents can expect fair to partly cloudy weather over some areas on Wednesday.
