Students in UAE participating in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) had to wait for an additional two-and-a-half hours following a question paper leak.
Dubai is the only centre where the examination is being held outside India.
The principal of Indian High School, Ashok Kumar, told 'Emirates24|7' that the examination, which was scheduled to start at 8am local time here was postponed and started only at 10.30am. More than 500 students are currently taking the exam here.
“Right now the exams are on. Several students are participating in it. We are not aware of any leaked question papers. We were given instructions from India to postpone the timing and we just followed it. We have given them the right question paper,” said Kumar.
According to media reports in India, police have arrested one person after the question paper was being sold in the open market in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
A CNN IBN report quoting a Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force said: "We are trying to track down two people who leaked the paper. We have the paper with us since last night."
