It was a harrowing experience for a skydiver who got stuck in a tree after veering off course during a jump in Dunstable.

Andrew Stack, of Pelham, N.H., was freed by rescuers early Monday afternoon after spending about three hours dangling at least 70 feet above the ground.

The 35-year-old Stack - a certified sky diver - appeared to make it through the ordeal in good condition, but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Officials at Skydive Pepperell say it appeared that both Stack's main chute and his automated emergency chute both deployed, which could have made it difficult for him to steer. The emergency chute may have deployed because the skydiver was dropping too low or too quickly.
