Chippa smashes 63-ball century

Experienced campaigner Iqbal Chippa continued to dazzle in the EMA Lubricants sponsored Mobil Cup tournament smashing a superb century in 63 balls to help Mashreq Bank beat Maklai CC by eight wickets at The Sevens cricket grounds in Dubai.

Half centuries by Firoz Khan (90) and Hareesh Menon (76) led the victory charge for Nucaf Tellicherry in the tournament  conducted by the Dubai Cricket Council.

Maklai CC batting first did well to notch up 190 runs riding on a good knock by Salim Patni who scored 86 runs in 62 balls with nine fours and a six.
 
However Mashreq Bank breezed past the target with more than four overs to spare as Chippa scored exactly 100 runs with 12 fours and a six before retiring hurt but not before he had ensured an easy win for the bankers.

Nucaf Tellicherry put up 212 runs on the board as Hareesh Menon and Firoz Khan figured in a 137-runs partnership against the G Force Academy youngsters setting them a challenging target.

Hareesh scored 76 runs in 40 balls laced with 14 fours and a six while his partner Firoz pulverised the young attack with a rapid fire knock of 90 runs in 57 balls slamming 19 fours and two sixes.

G Force youngsters did well putting up a spirited fight  making 187 before being bowled out with Varun Totadri top scoring with a fine knock of 51 runs in 40 balls with six fours.
