Chirag Thakur returned bagged three wickets but his efforts failed to prevent the Sharjah Cricket Academy Under-12 team from crashing to a 63-run defeat against Spencer Under-12 team in a friendly match played in the Surrey county, near London.
The SCA team, currently on a tour of England to hone their skills, may have suffered back-to-back losses against the hosts, but the experience of playing in tough conditions will hold them in a good stead when they return home.
Bowling with nagging accuracy, Chirag conceded just 16 runs for his three wickets while Arsalam Amir took for 29 as Spencer Club, batting first, scored 161 for six in the allotted 25 overs.
Miller (52) and Jamson (47) batted well to ensure the home team got a decent total to defend. The visitors, in reply, were bowled out for 98 in the 22nd over despite a fighting knock of 24 by Dhurva Bhagdikar.
The SCA Under-12 team lost to the same team by 52 runs in another match. The Spencer team, batting first, scored 142 for six. Anas Saeed and Daud Tanveer claimed two wickets each.
The Sharjah side, in reply, could muster only 90 runs before being bowled out in the 22nd over. Dhurva Bhagdikar (29) and Ali Abdullah (25) were among the runs, but they lacked support from other premier batsmen.
