Dolly and Rhea star for Dubai Modern

Dolly Israni and Rhea Kalapura propelled Dubai Modern High School to a 19-run victory over Indian School, Ras Al Khaimah, in the Sharjah inter-school girls tournament, organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council under the auspices of Emirates Cricket Board, at the Sharjah stadium on Sunday.

In other matches, Our Own English High School Sharjah beat The Winchester School Dubai by 31 runs while Delhi Private School Dubai got the better of Dubai Modern High School by six wickets.
Dolly smashed an unbeaten 15 as Dubai Modern High School, batting first, posted a healthy 68 for three in the allotted 10 overs. Indian School Ras Al Khaimah, in reply, were restricted to 49 for three, thanks to a superb spell of two for nine by Rhea, who was later named player of the match.
Our Own English High School Sharjah rode on a tidy bowling performance by Nashrah Karim who conceded just two runs for her one wicket to beat The Winchester School.
Delhi Private School owed their six-win victory to an all-round performance by Gouthami Golani, who first snared two wickets for just eight runs and then cracked nine crucial runs to seal the match.
Six teams are competing in the tournament which is aimed at creating more playing opportunities for budding cricketers. The teams have been divided into two groups. The Group A consists of Delhi Private School, Dubai Modern High School and Indian School, RAK, while the Group comprises Our Own English High School, Sharjah, The Winchester School, Dubai, and Gulf Indian High School, Dubai.
