Robin Van Persie is the latest hero in the Arsenal ‘Twilight’ saga to take centre stage.
After Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas went over to the dark side – breaking Gunner hearts – the Dutchman took up the mantle of keeping the legions of fans in love with the club, and its great manager Arsene Wenger.
However, the threat of Van Persie leaving looms as long as Arsenal fail to win anything. And none other than Cesc Fabregas reminded, both the club and the player, that come January, it might be heart break all over again.
But Van Persie has only made it more difficult for himself to leave by heaping praise – not unbefitting in any way – on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
RVP says Wenger is responsible for becoming one of the world's best strikers.

His strike in the Gunners' 3-0 home win over West Brom was his 29th goal in 28 league games this calendar year.

Van Persie was quoted in the British press as saying: "I'm so thankful I met him. When I was 20 he asked me, 'Why are you not a top player yet?'
"I said 'Because of this, this and this.' He told me to think about the reasons why and a couple of years later asked me again, 'Are you a top player?'
"I again said, 'No, I don't think so.' And he said, 'Why not? Think about it.'
"It was then I started to realise. He gave me a little bit of advice on certain things I was doing. He told me to think more about my actions. It was a conversation which lasted a year. Every couple of weeks he would refer to that conversation we had. He helped me big time."
Van Persie has scored 108 goals in 246 games for Arsenal since joining from Feyenoord for £2.75million in May 2004.
With Arsenal and Wenger creating the beast Van Persie is today, can he afford to leave? The Gunners will clearly see it as betrayal. And not for the first tim
