IPL DD vs MI: Delhi Daredevils beat Mumbai Indians by 10 runs

Delhi Daredevils completed a hat-trick with a 10-run win after some superb bowling at the death by Zaheer Khan and Chris Morris to deny Mumbai Indians.

Chasing a challenging target of 165, Mumbai Indians finished on 154-7 requiring 21 off the last over.

Mumbai were on track despite being pegged back by the spin of Mishra (2 for 24) with Rohit Sharma anchoring the chase with his third half century.

Krunal Pandya (36) stepped up the ante with a 41-run stand for the third wicket while Pollard (19) added 34 with Rohit whose knock of 65 contained seven boundaries and a six before being run out in the last over after a collision with his partner.

Mumbai need 13 off two balls after Harbhajan is trapped leg before a duck. MI 152-7, 19.4 overs.

Delhi innings

A solid half century from Sanju Samson (60) and a breezy unbeaten 49 from JP Duminy helped Delhi Daredevils make a challenging 164-4 after being put into bat.

The duo figured in a 71-run stand for the fourth Samson paced his innings beautifully before the onslaught by Duminy in the final overs.

Duminy's 31-ball 40 was studded with three boundaries and two glorious sixes.

McClenaghan was the pick of the bowlers claiming two for 31 striking crucial blows.

Duminy hits the 150th six of the tournament with a leg glance flick of Bumrah before being caught off no-ball.

Daredevils shrugged off a poor start to the season when they were shot out for 98 in their opening match, to outclass Kings XI Punjab and then the mighty Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Mumbai have just two wins from five outings, including a commanding victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last match.

Quinton de Kock has the honour of scoring the first century of IPL9 smashing a stroke-filled 108 off 51 balls against RCB.

The two teams have so far met in 16 IPL matches previously and have won eight matches apiece.

In matches played in Delhi though, the hosts DD have a 4-2 win-loss record against MI.
