International School of Choueifat will host its ninth regional sports tournament in ISC Dubai and Sharjah campuses on March 30 and 31.
Under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the International School of Choueifat will host its ninth regional sports tournament in ISC Dubai and Sharjah campuses on Saturday and Sunday March 30 and 31.
This tournament has around 1000 students participating from 23 schools and 12 countries and coincides with the 127th anniversary of the establishment of the first Choueifat SABIS School as well as the 37th anniversary of the opening of the first Choueifat/SABIS School in the UAE.
Students representing schools from Germany, Romania, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Kurdistan Iraq and Jordan will compete in swimming, basketball, soccer, sprint, relay, and long jump.
The two-day sporting event will attract many local and international spectators as well.
The first day’s events will commence with the opening ceremony, in the presence of Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of SABIS Victor Saad and other distinguished guests.
A large group of Emirati students will march to the music of the UAE Military Platoon of the Armed Forces after which, the 1000 participants will follow, thus turning the green sports field into a colorful painting portraying the flags of the twelve participating countries.
The International Schools of Choueifat/SABIS which started its humble beginnings in 1886 currently operates in 15 countries and educates more than 60,000 students spread over four continents.
