Cycling enthusiasts in Dubai will have another fantastic opportunity to enjoy a fun day out at the Great Pulse Ride taking place at the Dubai Cycling Course at Al Qudra Cycle Track on February 28.

The Great Pulse Ride, which was introduced last year, will bring together the community for an energetic day geared toward promoting health and fitness amongst all individuals in Dubai.

The ride is part of the “Dubai Pulse” program which was launched by the Dubai Sports Council in 2009. The program is intended to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make sport part of the lifestyle and to encourage individuals to enjoy the benefits of health and fitness.

The program aims to increase the number of those who regularly engage in physical activity and popularize the sports culture throughout society.

A total of three rides will take place during the day; the first of which will be 96kms for seasoned cyclists beginning at 7:00am; the second ride will be 48kms for intermediate riders at 7:45am; and lastly the 10km children’s ride beginning at 8am (minimum age 6)

Registration for the Great Pulse Ride is free for all, welcomes all ages and can be accessed through www.dubaipulseride.com. Every individual that registers through the website will be given a medal, regardless of their finishing time in the ride.

“The emphasis of this event is again on the community and bringing together individuals and families for a day of not only fun, but fitness too. We are giving every participant that registers a medal to reward and encourage them to take their health and fitness seriously” said Dr. Ahmad Al-Sharif, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council.

In addition to the rides, the event will feature food and beverage facilities, bouncy castles, retail stands, and music too – making it a day that everyone can enjoy and be a part of.
