G Force Cricket Academy seal hat-trick of triumphs

G Force Cricket Academy recorded a hat-trick of triumphs in the Cricket for Care Inter Academy tournament for Under 15.

They beat beat ECT Sharjah by 72 runs in the final that was played at Fair ground at Dubai Men’s College.

"We are happy to have defended the title once again and this shows the depth of the players and their consistency to perform and help win and retain the title for G Force Cricket Academy," said G Force Cricket Academy head coach Gopal Jasapara.   

The tournament was launched in 2011 by Dubai Cricket Council with sponsorship support from cricket enthusiast Shyam Bhatia. 

G Force Cricket Academy put into bat made 187 in 39 overs.

Openers Shaunak Pathane and Rishi Ramchandani gave them a decent start.

Shrijeet Sivram and Krishna Lakhani batted with a lot of maturity to add 50 runs for the fourth wicket.

The middle order struggled against the accuracy of Ihsanullah and Ejaz as they bowled well for ECT Sharjah.

Arnold Braganza, Shusain and Sawood added another 40 runs towards the end.

Chasing a target of 188, ECT Sharjah lost a wicket in the first over.

G Force Cricket Academy opened their attack with spinners from both ends and Shrijith Sivram trapped Harnain for zero.

Captain Shamsulla and Ishanullah, added 71 runs for the second wicket.

Ishanullah was finally bowled by Mohammad Shadad for 22 which proved to be a major blow for ECT Sharjah.

Shamsullah who was voted the best batsman of the tournament was left to shoulder too much towards the end and he lost his wicket playing a loose shot and being out hit wicket for 48 which contained five boundaries.

ECT Sharjah were finally bowled out for 115 runs in 34.1 overs.

DCC Honorary Secretary, Mohamed Lokhandwala thanked Shyam Bhatia for his hat-trick of sponsorships and congratulated G Force and their Coaching staff and team for their third win in a row and wished ECT Sharjah victory in the next edition.

Shyam Bhatia also congratulated the winners and hoped that each and every team had enjoyed the tournament. He had always planned to have the youngsters play in the longer format tournaments and urged the DCC and the coaches to conduct 40 over or 50 overs cricket tournaments for the youngsters.
