Sony launches wearable Action Cam

Sony has a launched a new Action Cam with exciting new features including GPS, NFC Live-View Remote and slim waterproof housing.

The slim, wearable Action Cam HDR-AS30V can capture any activity from sandy bike treks to dune-bashing and snorkelling.

UAE media personnel were given a first-hand experience of Sony’s dynamic video camera as they raced on the Kartdrome of Dubai Autodrome on Tuesday.

“The action-oriented Sony Action Cam AS30 is the best point-of-view high definition camera designed for capturing your adventures and extreme action videos. This Wi-Fi enabled camera incorporates Sony’s legendary digital imaging quality and has innovative features that make it the best in the industry,” said  Hiroyasu Sugiyama, Managing Director, Sony Middle East and Africa FZE at the media briefing. 

The new waterproof housing has a slim design that cuts through wind and water when sky diving or streaking through that downhill run.

With a huge 170° field of view (120° with SteadyShot on), the wide-angle Carl Zeiss Tessar® lens takes in panoramic landscapes, dramatic ski slopes and more.

The back-illuminated Exmor R™ CMOS sensor grabs more light for stunning Full HD footage, even on the dullest days.

For the first time, Action Cam can also capture crisp 11.9 megapixel still photos.

After shooting, connect the Action Cam with your smartphone via Wi-Fi to transfer and share your shots instantly with Sony’s free PlayMemories Mobile app.

The Wi-Fi also links the Action Cam with the optional RM-LVR1 Live-View Remote. This waterproofed, wristwatch-style controller talks wirelessly to the Action Cam, allowing ‘hands-off’ operation when the camera is mounted in hard-to-reach places like the helmet, kayak or surfboard.

The new Action Cam HDR-AS30V from Sony is now available at all leading electronic stores in the UAE.
