British boxer Amir Khan is not pulling any punches as he calls out once again for what could be a mega-fight with unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather.
Khan has been chasing the Mayweather for the past two years and believes he is closer to fighting the pound-for-pound king of the ring.
"I don't think I have ever been closer to getting the fight with Floyd Mayweather than I am at this moment… I believe there is every chance the fight could be confirmed within the next two weeks," Khan told Sky Sports last week.
In a tongue-in-cheek suggestion, Khan has said he would even fight Mayweather in giant, yellow padded gloves, according to the Daily Mail.
The Bolton fighter made the joke by uploading a picture of himself in the gloves to his Instagram account, with the caption, 'Floyd Mayweather fight me. Promise you il wear this glove for the fight.'
Khan was alluding to the hysteria caused by Mayweather's team ahead of the 'Fight of the Century' against Manny Pacquiao, in which they claimed that 'Pacman's' Reyes-manufactured gloves were illegal and also asked the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to ensure the Filipino's cup was checked.
Mayweather, who has ruled out a rematch with Pacquiao, plans to fight one last time in September before hanging up his gloves.
Khan has been more vocal in his challenge to fight Mayweather since outclassing Chris Algieri last month.
