RAFAH: During Israel's eight-day bombardment of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said it hit more than 1,500 targets, including tunnels it believes Hamas used to smuggle in weapons from neighbouring Egypt. Since Israel launched its blockade on the territory in 2007, the tunnels have served as a lifeline for delivering basic goods to residents. Palestinians are working fast to repair the damages to the tunnels caused by air strikes in order to reopen the passageway.
