Dancing costs Saudi Arabian school chief his job

Saudi education authorities sacked a local school manager after he was seen in a U-Tube film dancing with his teachers and students.

Newspapers said the education department in the southern province of Jazan reacted quickly to the film showing the school head performing a local dance with his teachers and school boys. They said a new head had been named and that the other dancing teachers would be punished after the end of the school year.

“They could be either transferred to other schools or have their salaries cut,” the Arabic language daily Ajel said in a report from the southern town of Sabya, where the school is based. It did not mention what had prompted that dance.
